Accounts Receivable Configuration

The Accounts Receivable Configuration screen allows you to configure cutoff dates and aging parameters for outstanding A/R account balances. When you close out an invoice, the invoice is generated using whatever currently existing unpaid charges are on the account, and sent to the client. Any charges incurred after the closeout date start a new invoice for the next billing period.    When the night audit runs for the last day of the month or the first day of the month (depending the configuration), all outstanding invoices are automatically closed and marked as sent. Both the Accounts Receivable Aging Report and the Accounts Receivable Statement area utilize the parameters set here.

Note: Cutoff dates and aging period parameters used for closing out are set using the Accounts Receivable Configuration screen, aging periods section. Configuration settings apply to ALL A/R accounts. You can set the cutoff date to None to manually close all invoices. To classify transactions according to the aging periods you configure, enable Use Invoice Date for Aging. Enter the number of days for each period and the description you want to use as a header for the costs in that period in the Accounts Receivable Aging Report and the Accounts Receivable Statement.

The Accounts Receivable Configuration command is found in the Accounting Menu, which may be reached using the File Menu.
